The Gospel in 10 Words
GOD CREATES
In the beginning God created... (Genesis 1:1); Let us make man in our image... (Genesis 1:27); I praise you [God], for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. (Psalm 139:14). We have a creative God, and all creation proclaims His glory (Romans 1:20). We were created in His image and His relational nature.
SIN BREAKS
Sin is anything we think, say or do that is against God. Our sin cursed creation and broke our relationship with God and others. (Genesis 3, Romans 3:10-12, Romans 3:23). The punishment for sin is death (Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:1-2).
JESUS SAVES
Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross in our place, rose from the dead, and offers forgiveness of sins by placing our faith in Him. (Romans 5:8, Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 John 1:9).
JESUS TRANSFORMS
New life in Christ gives His creation a reconciled relationship with God, in which the new believer can grow in the grace and knowledge of God and be used by God for His purposes. (2 Corinthians 5:17-21, Ephesians 2:10, 2 Peter 1:3-4).
GOD RESTORES
God makes all things new and promises to return making a new heaven and earth for eternity with Him (Acts 1:11, Revelation 21:1-5, Revelation 22:20)
